Classroom management software

Smart Technologies has introduced version 6.0 of its SynchronEyes classroom management software, which enables teachers and administrators to simultaneously monitor each student's screen individually or view multiple screens as thumbnails. The software features a wireless support option that enables teachers to monitor students from anywhere on the network. Version 6.0 includes a Quiz Wizard option for importing data from exiting files to create tests and quizzes. Price: $1,199 per lab license. Availability: currently available. Powered stage monitor

The SML-12A from D.A.S. Audio is a bi-amplified, two-way, vented system designed for use as a stage monitor or portable PA when used with its standard pole-mount and M-10 flying points. The monitor features a 500 W Class D amplifier for its low-frequency section and a 100 W Class A/B amplifier for its high-frequency driver. The unit's low-frequency section includes a high-efficiency, 12-inch speaker with a 3-inch voice coil and neodymium magnet structure, while the high-frequency section includes a neodymium magnet compression driver with a 1.5-inch exit and a 3-inch titanium diaphragm. CobraNet output module

Whirlwind's CO2a CobraNet-based, two-channel output module accepts digital audio in a CobraNet distributed audio system. The module uses offers two output level ranges: +20 dB to +6 dB and +6 dB to -4 dB at digital, full-scale input. The CO2a is available with an optional wired remote control or a mounting bracket for vertical or horizontal rack-mounting. Price: N/A. Availability: currently available. Power amplifier

Targeted for use in large-venue concert tours, musical performance halls, and festivals, the TA4000 power amplifier from TCS Audio provides 2,000 W per channel (4,000 W bridged) at 4 ohms. The amplifier features Class AB topology, TCS Audio's Constant Thermal Monitoring technology, and parallel-linked XLR connectors for cascading multiple amplifiers. The unit offers a signal-to-noise ratio of greater than 100 dB and a THD factor of less than 0.03 percent (20 Hz to 20 kHz @ 3 dB below clipping). Price: $1,195. Availability: currently available. Modular arrays

Designed for small- to medium-sized venues such as nightclubs and houses of worship, the EMMA 406, EMMA 606, and EMMA 806 two-way, line source configuration speaker module arrays from A-Line Acoustics feature 6-inch low-frequency (LF) drivers and 6-inch high-frequency (HF) ribbon drivers. The EMMA 406 features four LF and HF drivers that produce 120 dB maximum SPL with a 100 Hz to 19 kHz frequency response. The EMMA 606 offers six LF and HF drivers that produce a 125 dB maximum SPL with a 90 Hz to 19 kHz frequency response. The EMMA 806 (pictured here) includes eight LF and HF drivers, producing a 130 dB maximum SPL with a 80 Hz to 19 kHz frequency response. Price: N/A (all models).
