Control system software

Biamp's daVinci control system software version 1.2 supports graphic-based control interface design for PCs and third-party remote controllers. The software's Auto-Connect function automatically locates Biamp components and their network settings, and loads component presets to a GUI-based full-screen layout. The software also supports the company's TI-2 telephone interface, which enables integrators to create customized control screens for teleconferencing applications. Integrated media center

Designed for custom installation applications, the Integra NVS-7.7 integrated media center includes a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 Dual 820 processor, a 400 GB hard drive for audio and video file storage, and 1 GB of DDR memory. The media center enables users to capture, store, and distribute multimedia formats including WMV-HD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, JPEG, WMA, MP3, AAC, and PCM. Live sound processor

Peavey has introduced the Kosmos V2 audio processor, which is aimed at live sound and recording applications. The processor features the company's Kosmos dynamic phasing technology, which is designed to manipulate low and high frequencies to deepen bass and widen highs through phasing as well as mask comb-filtering problems, according to the company. In-ceiling loudspeaker

Targeted for use in restaurants, retail shops, boardrooms, conference centers, and airports, the TCS-C50T full-range, two-way, in-ceiling loudspeaker from Turbosound is rated at 75 W RMS, and has a 75 Hz to 22 kHz usable frequency range. The unit's 180-degree, conical dispersion pattern is designed for music and speech applications, according to the company. Plasma wall box

FSR Inc. has introduced the PWB-100 installation accessory, an 11-inch-wide box designed to accommodate flat-panel plasma and LCD displays. The PWB-100 installs in the wall behind the display and provides space for audio, video, control, and power connections. The product mounts along the bottom edge behind the display to allow the screen to sit flush against the wall, and conceals all wires and connections. The box accommodates up to six, single-space FSR Intelligent Plate Solution plates and a UL-listed, single-gang gem box for AC power. It's available in black or white in any connection style. Universal control system translator

Calypso's UT-500 Serial-IR Universal Translator converts legacy commands embedded within control system source codes to new commands. The UT-500 can convert IR to IR, IR to serial, serial to IR, or serial to serial. Features include an onboard 32-event translation table, built-in IR and serial learning, and a graphical interface. After configuration, it operates as a standalone device, and can transmit responses from serial devices back to the calling control application by supporting bi-directional communications. Digital camera extension systems

Logical Solutions/Thinklogical has introduced the CFL-3 High Speed Base (pictured here) and CFL-4 Base/Medium/Full digital camera extension systems, which are designed for use with digital cameras in traffic control, security, and surveillance applications. Both systems include transmit and receive modules, fiber optic cables, and two AC/DC power converters. The systems operate at speeds from 20 MHz to 85 MHz, and include serial connectivity for camera control signals, pan/tilt/zoom, or accessories such as lighting or sensors. DSP stereo audio matrix switchers

Targeted for use in distributed audio integration applications, AutoPatch's PrecisLT with DSP stereo audio matrix switchers feature input gain control, output volume, tone and balance control, and a 10-band equalizer. The devices are available in 8x8 and 18x18 configurations. According to the company, the switchers' input gain control normalizes audio levels of individual sources to prevent noticeable variations in audio level when switching between inputs. Condenser microphones

The M3 Silicon Valve large diaphragm, pressure-gradient, solid-state condenser microphones from MXL Microphones are available in the M3-P version for female vocals and the standard M3 version (pictured here). The microphones have a 20 Hz to 23 kHz frequency response, a 130 dB maximum SPL for 0.5 percent THD, and a 76 dB (1 kHz @ 1 Pa) signal-to-noise ratio. Both versions include a 1-inch capsule with gold sputtered, 6-micron diaphragm. Digital signage solutions

Intertise Inc.'s Point of Purchase (POP) Advertising System is a turnkey digital signage product designed for small- to mid-sized businesses including retail, spas, waiting rooms, and lobbies. A network version incorporates the company's VisionCast Digital Signage Software, which enables users to make remote updates to the system. A standalone “Do-It-Yourself” version of the software is also available. Screen sizes range from 7 inches to 42 inches. The company also introduced its integrated television system, POP Ads TV (pictured here), which creates a new, store-branded channel for locations with existing TVs.
