Multimedia projectors and visualizer

Canon's LV-7245 (2,500 ANSI lumens, pictured here), LV-7240 (2,100 ANSI lumens), and LV-X5 (1,500 ANSI lumens) multimedia projectors feature XGA (1024x768) resolution, a 400:1 contrast ratio, and a 1.2X zoom lens. The projectors include S-video, composite, and component connections, two VGA input terminals, one VGA output terminal, and audio input/output. The company also released the RE-455X visualizer, which offers 12X power zoom, an RS232C terminal, VGA input and output, and S-video and composite video outputs. Video splitter/switch

The Hall Research CP-200 two-channel component video splitter/switch is a dual-purpose unit that can function as a one-in, two-out splitter, or as a two-in, one-out switcher. The device is compatible with analog component video (YCbCr or YPbPr) and RGB signals. The CP-200 supports all RGB, TV, and HDTV resolutions up to 1080i. The unit features three BNC connectors per channel, and includes RCA-to-BNC adapters for use with 3-BNC or 3-RCA cables. Price: N/A. Availability: currently available. In-ceiling loudspeakers

JBL's Control 300 Series of large format in-ceiling loudspeakers include six full-range, true point-source coax designed loudspeakers, and one 12-inch subwoofer. Available in 8- and 12-inch models, the six coax loudspeakers range in power rating from 250-400 W. The subwoofer offers a 400 W power rating, a 30 Hz to 4.5 kHz frequency response, and 92 dB sensitivity. All models feature JBL's Constant Coverage waveguide design, which provides broadband pattern control. Price: Speakers list for $320 to $625. Availability: currently available (all models). Hardware controllers

The c_Link hardware controller from Calypso performs control interface functions using standard hyperlink protocols to place control buttons in any hyperlink-ready platform, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, web development tools, and PDF files. c_Link users can input the network address (IP address) of the controller and the numbers (1-128) of the events they wish to trigger for control commands. Indoor/outdoor loudspeaker

Atlantic Technology's AW-424 indoor/outdoor loudspeaker incorporates two 4 1/2-inch woofers with a weather-resistant, 1-inch soft dome tweeter. The AW-424 features a 70 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, 8-ohm impedance, and 88 dB sensitivity. The 12-pound speaker can be mounted vertically or horizontally using an included mounting bracket that attaches to the wall. For outdoor use, the speaker's terminal well provides drainage channels to keep water from collecting around the connections. For indoor use, the speaker includes self-adhesive rubber feet for use on book shelves or speaker stands. Price: $399 per pair. Availability: currently available. Digital projector

The H78DC3 digital projector from Optoma features a 5X speed, eight-segment Dark Video Enhancement (DVE) color wheel, a 4,000:1 contrast ratio, native 720p (1280x720) resolution, and 800 lumens of brightness. The projector supports NTSC, PAL, SECAM, HDTV (720p, 1080i), EDTV (480p), SDTV (480i), and 576i/p video compatibility. It also provides support for UXGA, SXGA, WXGA, XGA, SVGA, and VGA, VESA standards, and PC and Mac capabilities. Price: $3,999. Availability: currently available. Loudspeaker management systems

Targeted for use in single- or multi-zone systems, the VSX 26 and VSX 48 loudspeaker management systems from Peavey feature the company's digital processing technology, high-resolution GUI, and upgradeable software. The VSX 26 offers two inputs and six outputs, while the VSX 48 includes four inputs and eight outputs. The single rack space units include two USB jacks on the front panel, LCD screens, parametric and graphic EQ, delay, compressor, limiter, and fully adjustable crossover functions. DVI/HDMI extender

The DVI 201 TX/RX DVI/HDMI extender from Extron includes a transmitter and receiver set designed to send single-link DVI or HDMI signals using conventional data network cabling such as Cat5e and Cat6. The extender enables users to transmit HDTV signals more than 200 feet and transmit computer video signals more than 100 feet at UXGA (1600x1200) resolution. The transmitter unit offers a DVI input loop-through to support monitoring on a local display device. The DVI 201 TX/RX supports RS232 signal transmission for remote monitoring or projector control. Control room console

Winsted's Prestige Slim-Line Series of modular control room consoles offers fully enclosed back panels for standalone use. The full-length panels feature removable doors for access to electronic components. The consoles are vented throughout for air circulation, and are available with pull-out equipment shelves, anti-tip legs with adjustable levelers, vented lower doors with a locking spring latch, and TruForm work surfaces. Visualizers

Designed for installation in rooms with differing heights, the VZ-C12 and VZ-C32 visualizers from WolfVision offer 4:3 progressive scan output modes and 16:9 or 16:10 widescreen formats, including HD/HDTV 720p and 1080p at 50/60 Hz, WXGA, and WXGA+. The VZ-C12 one-CCD model, which offers an Ethernet/LAN port and an XGA camera, processes 23.6 million pixels per second.
