The DN-F650R uses stable and reliable solid-state media technology as the source medium. It can record and read MP3 files and uncompressed WAV files to and from SD or SDHC cards, as well as USB drives. Company officials say the DN-F650R is ideal for audio recording in a variety of applications, including studio, broadcast, house of worship, government, and meeting and conference recording.

The DN-F650R comes housed in a compact 1U-rackspace enclosure, with RS-232C and USB keyboard control, making it suited for integrated sound systems. It offers a host of inputs and outputs, including AES/EBU and balanced XLR in and out for inclusion into nearly every application. Playback features include +20% and -40% pitch control.

The optional RC-F400S Remote Controller features a large LCD display and enhances the DN-F650R's capability by providing an ergonomically designed, intuitive control unit for instant playback of audio or audio elements and sound effects via hot buttons in live events, radio, television, or other similar situations.

"The DN-F650R represents Denon's next generation of audio devices," said Karl Gustafson, brand manager of Denon Professional Products, in a statement. "This and other forthcoming products were based on direct feedback from contractors and system integrators and provide high-quality, digital audio playback solutions in a 1RU rack format. They are ideal for the fixed installation and sound contracting markets."
