Altinex Rolls Out Audio Conditioners

Altinex announced the introduction of the SC206-204 and SC206-205 audio signal conditioners. Designed to eliminate the effects of transmission interference when using single-ended audio signals, the new SC206-204 and SC206-205 reduce noise or interference caused by signal contamination and variations in ground levels, making them well suited for presentation systems, company officials say.

Altinex announced the introduction of the SC206-204 and SC206-205 audio signal conditioners. Designed to eliminate the effects of transmission interference when using single-ended audio signals, the new SC206-204 and SC206-205 reduce noise or interference caused by signal contamination and variations in ground levels, making them well suited for presentation systems, company officials say.

sc206-204(300)The SC206-204 and SC206-205 both use audio filters to reduce noise by recreating the audio signal in a balanced or differential format and by isolating the grounds to eliminate potential ground loops. The SC206-204 is terminated with a male stereo 3.5-millimeter plug for loop out, while the SC206-205 is terminated with RCA connectors.

When used in a presentation system, both devices can enhance the quality of the source audio, thereby eliminating the 60-Hz "hum" that can occur when multiple pieces of equipment are not properly grounded, according to Altinex. They also complement the company's Tilt 'N Plug line of interconnect boxes. Placed in-line between the interconnect box and the audio amplifier or loudspeakers, the SC206-204 and SC206-205 conditioners convert the single-ended audio signal to balanced audio.

Altinex-2(300)"The SC206-204 and SC206-205 are indispensable for ensuring high-quality audio in today's presentation systems," said Phil Hale, Altinex vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement. "With the myriad of audio and video equipment that must interact together, these audio signal conditioners are perfect for addressing noise interference frequently caused by proximity to power cables, transformers, ballasts from fluorescent lights, dimmer switches, and other high-powered electrical emitting devices. Similarly, they are also effective for addressing the relative ground levels between the source and destination devices."

The Altinex SC206-204 and SC206-205 audio signal conditioners are currently available with an MSRP of $49 each.
