Crown Audio debuted its new ComTech DriveCore series of amplifiers, four models that each fit in a 1U rack space, are convection-cooled, and energy-efficient. All are Energy Star 2.0-compliant.
At InfoComm 2010, Crown Audio debuted its new ComTech DriveCore series of amplifiers. Made up of four models that each fit in a 1U rack space, they are convection-cooled and energy-efficient. The secret sauce is the Integrated DriveCore technology chip, which Harman International co-developed with Intel Corp., and is smaller than a dime for greater efficiency and a signal-to-noise ratio of 110 dB. DriveCore also has patented feedback and protection circuits integrated into the chip for a fast and accurate response. The family of amps offers up to eight channels and 150 watts per channel in a chassis without a fan.
