Auralex Teams with iSky for Star-Studded Design

Auralex Acoustics, a producer of sound control solutions, and iSky, a high-tech low-voltage digital lighting company, joined creative forces to produce the SonoLux fiber optic star field lighting system with state-of-the-art acoustical performance.

Auralex Acoustics, a producer of sound control solutions, and iSky, a high-tech low-voltage digital lighting company, joined creative forces to produce the SonoLux fiber optic star field lighting system with state-of-the-art acoustical performance.

SonoLux ELiTE Fiber Optic acoustical panels incorporate Auralex's ProPanels with iSky's fiber optic lighting expertise to offer a plug-and-play star field experience. The midnight-blue panels feature iSky's patent-pending Star Engine lighting effects, which mimic the random glimmer of the night sky.

"From the beginning, we saw Auralex as a leader in acoustical treatment products, so it was a natural fit to combine our lighting technology with Auralex's proven acoustical products," said Jeff Graham, founder and president of iSky, in a statement. "We are excited to bring this innovative product to the Auralex distribution channels."

SonoLux is scheduled to be available in March 2009 in a choice of three retail-friendly kits: one set of six 24-by-24-inch panels, one set of six 30-by-30-inch panels, and one set of two 48-by-48-inch panels, all designed for use in recording, rehearsal, or commercial applications. Each kit includes all the tools necessary for installation and requires no maintenance once installed, according to the company. Custom sizes and shapes are available upon request.

"Partnering with iSky is the perfect extension to our ProPanel line," said Tim Martin, director of sales and marketing for Auralex Acoustics. "This is a win-win collaboration, as we are benefiting from iSky's proven lighting and fiber optic technology, while we are offering our acoustical expertise to create a refined and innovative product."
