Intelix, U.S. manufacturer of audio/video hardware and software, recently announced the introduction of the VGA-UHR - an affordable, ultra-high resolution VGA balun capable of transmitting a broadcast-quality WSXGA (1900 x 1200 pixel) signal up to 550 feet via standard Cat 5 cabling. Ideal for houses of worship, schools, corporate, and convention applications, the VGA-UHR features customizable color dip switches for eliminating picture skew and ghosting, as well as gain adjustment for toggling picture brightness.
Rapidly growing in popularity, baluns are an inexpensive solution for applications requiring audio, video, and VGA signal transmission. Intelix's complete line includes baluns which passively transmit audio, composite video, broadband video, baseband video, component video, and multiple resolutions of VGA.
A balun is a small transformer that converts an audio, video, or VGA signal from unbalanced to balanced and vice versa. By doing so, baluns make the necessary impedance adjustments for A/V signal transmission between different wiring systems.
Simply place compatible baluns at each end of the unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable, such as Cat 5 or Cat 3, and connect your audio, video, or VGA devices. In addition to baluns, Intelix manufactures an extensive line of serial controlled mic/line and matrix mixers, creating professional audio/video solutions. Complete product information, including spec sheets, user manuals, and application notes, is available for download from the Intelix web site, www.intelix.com, or by calling 1-866-4-MATMIX.
