COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION
In order to foster the growth opportunities that come with advancing knowledge, NSCA offers numerous education and training opportunities throughout the year.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION PROGRAM LAUNCHED
New to these offerings is the NSCA Certificate of Completion Program (CCP), launched at this year's Systems Integration Expo conference and exhibition. Now, participants in NSCA University programs can work toward a Certificate of Completion, which will be awarded after they attain 24 Learning Units (LUs) over three years within one of six new colleges: College of Allied Professionals, College of Business, College of Project Management (courses designed for project managers and support staff) College of System Design, College of Systems Sales, and the College of Technical Knowledge.
EXECUTIVE/MANAGEMENT EDUCATION
Industry members can take advantage of an opportunity for management-level training at the annual NSCA Fall Business Conference, scheduled for Oct. 26-28, 2006, in Myrtle Beach, S.C. This two-and-a-half-day conference offers practical tactics for growth through its Executive and Management seminar tracks. Kicking off the top-tier training this fall will be keynote speaker Pat Richie, founder and president of the Sports Leadership Group. Richie has more than 20 years' experience teaching leadership, ethics, and business, in addition to three Super Bowl Rings earned during his time with the San Francisco 49ers.
MARKET INTELLIGENCE
Perhaps the most important education is increasing customer awareness. As revealed in the Second Quarter 2006 Market Intelligence Briefing just made available by NSCA, all of the most significant factors associated with the commoditization of electronic systems relate to customer groups being under-educated about the importance of quality electronic systems and all the aspects of design, product, and execution. The majority of respondents to the survey indicated that they view commoditization as either a moderate or high current threat to the industry.
EXPO 2007
Making the industry's value known to the customers will require continuing education and certification efforts, which makes that crucial time when NSCA education once again converges with the technology exhibition at the NSCA Expo 2007 all the more important. The show will take place March 15-17, 2007, in Orlando, Fla. The numbers at Expo 2006 prove that NSCA education leads the industry: Course enrollment was up 15 percent over that in 2005, and more than 23 percent of courses and seminars were sold out.
INDUSTRY SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION FOUNDATION
As a further testament to the success of NSCA's education programs, at the expo this year, the NSCA Education Foundation announced a $10,000 contribution from Lectrosonics — the company's third contribution in four years. Lectrosonics is a Gold Club supporter of the foundation, with a total contribution of more than $25,000. The foundation supports the educational efforts of professionals entering the industry and industry members seeking continuing education.
