The Snap AV Episode 250 Commercial series in-ceiling two-way speaker provides coverage of 110 degrees and a frequency response of 58Hz to 20kHz. The driver complement includes a 6.5in. treated paper cone woofer with a Nomex spider and a 1/2in. fabric dome, ferrofluid cooled tweeter with 70V taps that include .5W, 1W, 2W, and 4W. The speaker can be installed in either drywall or into an acoustic ceiling tile system.
Featuring a built-in 15W amplifier, the Soundsphere Q-CS Power1 incorporates two unbalances summing inputs for stereo or mono sources and a two-way, coaxial driver with 8in. woofer. A gain trim is provided for each input as well as master level adjustment. The maximum SPL is 101dB (15W/3.3ft.) and the frequency response is 55Hz to 16kHz. The coverage is 180ºx360º.
Designed for background music applications, SoundTube Entertainment’s CM52S-BGM sports BroadBeam Ring technology for smooth off-axis performance and midrange clarity. A shallow backcan allows installation where plenum space is limited. The speaker features a tuned port for bass response down to 65Hz from the 5.25in. woofer, and the high frequencies extend to 22kHz via the .75in. silk dome tweeter. The maximum SPL is 100.5dB with a coverage angle of 100 degrees. Standard colors are black and white though custom colors are available.
The SP5MAT from Speco Technologies features a flame-retardant ABS plastic backcan and a driver complement including a 5.25in. polypropylene woofer and a 1in. coaxially mounted Mylar dome tweeter. The SP5MAT offers a choice of eight individual wattage taps for 25V or 70V operation. The frequency response is 57Hz to 20kHz.
Tannoy’s CMS 1201 DC is a large-format, in-ceiling loudspeaker featuring Tannoy’s 12in. Dual Concentric point-source driver (with 1.34in. aluminum dome high-frequency driver). The nominal coverage is 90 degrees conical and the frequency response is 60Hz to 20kHz. Peak SPL is 126dB. The 2.8-cubic-feet, powder-coated steel backcan includes steel mounting lugs for installation to a Unistrut roof rail system or four top-mounted eyebolts. The system can also be suspended via M10 or 3/8in. threaded rod.
Featuring a unique monocoque design, the PC-580R from TOA Electronics comprises an 8in. dual-cone driver with a frequency response of 50Hz to 16.6kHz for high-quality paging applications. Sold in quantities of 10, the speaker is designed to fit standard ceiling speaker templates the system is ideal for retrofits in large facilities. The PC-580RV includes a center, grille mounted volume pot. Optional accessories include a back can and support rails.
The Yamaha VCX series ceiling speakers includes the VXC8/VXC8W, which is a two-way bass reflex system with an 8in. cone low-frequency driver and a 1in. soft dome tweeter. The maximum calculated SPL is 118dB and the frequency range is 55Hz to 20kHz. The coverage pattern is 100 degrees conical. Other features include Anti-Drop tabs for temporary mounting and an attached flexible carry band.
Yorkville’s Coliseum CM5/70 is a 30W, 5in. woofer ceiling mount loudspeaker with a coaxial 3/4in. titanium-coated tweeter. The frequency response is 150Hz to 20kHz. The driver is mounted to an injection molded ABS plastic bezel. Transformer taps for 70V operation include 5W, 10W, or 20W.
