AV Stumpfl VarioClip

This month’s showcase includes a variety of new projection screen and projection-related products. Presented are a variety of front projections, rear projections, fixed installation, and portable projection screen products.

The AV Stumpfl VarioClip is reportedly the world’s first mobile projection screen featuring a full clean profile without studs and press snaps. VarioClip surfaces are attached to the frame using the patented hook technology QuickClip, which simplifies handling to a maximum with best frame stability and accuracy. The key features include a press snap and stud-free design built around a modular concept. VarioClip screens can be configured with front, rear, and dual vision screen surfaces to accommodate a variety of applications.

The VistaPlex Ultra (VPU) from Custom Display Solutions features flow-coated, rear screen diffusion technology. Designed to make the most of large-format, rear-projected images, the VPU Rear Screen is available in sizes up to 100in. x396in. and can be cut to any aspect ratio or shape to customize a variety of applications. VPU screens of considerable size can be rolled up tightly for transportation and maneuvering inside of buildings, eliminating the hassle and expense of removing windows and using a crane. With a substrate thickness of 3/16in., the projection screen has XY Axis Coat design for brightness uniformity and crisp image resolution with a wide, conical viewing area.

Da-Lite IDEA

The new IDEA line from Da-Lite provides functionality of a dry erase board with the ability to preserve projection of clear images, and when you erase, it doesn’t leave behind smudges or glare. The IDEA Screen features a magnetic surface and a thin frame. Improved surface uniformity and rigidity enhances performance for use with interactive projection technology. The whiteboard/screen hybrids are available in a variety of sizes and formats (16:9 and 16:10) from 73in. to 94in. diagonal.
