MIXERS

Allen & Heath's three new small-format, USB-equipped mixers include the ZED-420 (16 mono and two dual-stereo channels — pictured), the ZED-428 (24 mono and two stereo channels), and the ZED-436 (32 channels and two stereo). The series features a high-performance DuoPre padless preamp (a quality microphone circuit and an optimized line input circuit) rather than one preamp handling both mic and line signals. The mixers use a two-stage design with carefully controlled amounts of gain in each stage, offering high headroom and a low-noise, clean signal path. Other features include a responsive four-band, two-swept mids EQ with an in/out switch; six aux sends; and four sub groups, as well as direct outputs on each mono channel and separate L, R, and M main busses.

LOUDSPEAKER ENCLOSURES

Audio network enhanced teleprocessing technology from A-Line Acoustics is now featured in powered and hybrid-active A-Line loudspeaker enclosures to allow operators to remotely control and monitor their loudspeaker systems. The enclosures come standard with Cobranet digital audio network connectivity via RJ-45 100MB Ethernet with advanced DSP for remote monitoring and system control. The system features a standard amplifier analog XLR input and a looping output with transformer isolation, including volume control with detents, in addition to a remote-controlled amp standby and simple light indicators for temperature and load-impedance monitoring.

LINE ARRAY

The PZtronics VLA-2 vertical array loudspeaker weighs 20lbs. and provides 1000Wrms of power to deliver feedback-resistant sound to auditoriums, churches, and clubs. Long projection provides more consistent listening levels to all parts of a space, in addition to a high level of speech intelligibility and natural-sounding music. The 6ft.-tall line array uses 20 custom 3in. high-power, full-range neodymium drivers, and it ships with a standard loudspeaker pole mount that allows users to stack multiple arrays more than 12ft. tall on a tripod stand.

MICROPHONES

Provider Series' new PSL6 series of lavalier microphones are ideal for speech and theater applications. Their small size (3mm capsule) and light weight minimize visibility and maximize comfort for presenters, speakers, and pastors in video, television, houses of worship, and stage productions. The mini microphones produce Broadway-quality sound while remaining practically invisible. They can easily be hidden in wigs, hair, and costumes. The mics are available preconfigured for beltpacks from manufacturers including AKG, Audio-Technica, Sennheiser, and Shure. The PSL6 is available in black or tan.
