2011 Innovative Product: Audio-Technica SpectraPulse mtu101 Microphone

This is a tip of the hat to A-T’s larger innovation from 2008—the SpectraPulse Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless microphone system, a highly unique take on a big, pervasive problem—the crowded RF spectrum. A-T tapped in at 41dB below the ambient RF noise floor and deploys two-nanosecond pulses for a quiet, ultra-secure system, aimed at courtrooms, boardrooms, command centers—anywhere that security trumps range as a priority (though range can also be achieved with repeaters). Speaking of range, the new beltpack increases the users’ personal range, allowing them to untether from the podium or table to give free rein to their expression.
