Optoma Ships First Native Widescreen Digital Projector

Optoma, a manufacturer of digital projection and display devices, has announced that it is shipping its EP1690 digital projector. A native widescreen projector, the EP1690 delivers performance and picture quality for today’s widescreen notebooks, the latest DVD releases, and high-definition content.

The EP1690 features Optoma’s exclusive Widescreen Maximizer, which guarantees perfect picture matching between the video source and the projector. The Widescreen Maximizer software, downloaded for free from www.optomausa.com, provides the fastest and easiest way to match notebook video resolutions with the EP1690.

With a DarkChip2 DLP chipset and BrilliantColor technology, both by Texas Instruments, the Optoma EP1690 projects high-quality images. The BrilliantColor color processing technology, along with the 2500 lumens and 2500:1 contrast ratio of the EP1690, ensures that the projector delivers higher brightness and provides truer, more vibrant colors to the picture on display. Its 1280x768 WXGA resolution provides up to 25 percent higher resolution than a standard 1024x768 XGA projector, allowing the Optoma EP1690 to display crisper and more vibrant graphics and digital photos.
