MuxLab, designer and manufacturer of security video and AV connectivity solutions for copper twisted pair, announced its latest addition to its AV connectivity portfolio: the Active VGA Balun Kit (500035, 500036).

Developed for the PC/server market, the Active VGA Balun Kit allows VGA cable to be replaced by Cat-5 twisted-pair cable up to 500ft. at UXGA (1600x1200) for applications that require greater resolution and distance than supported by passive VGA over Cat-5 solutions.

The Active VGA Balun Kit includes one VGA transmitter and one VGA receiver and features adjustable gain control that compensates for smearing, propagation delay, and phase deviation depending on cable length. It supports more than 330ft. (100 meters) at 1800x1440 resolution, a local monitor for added versatility, and has LED diagnostic indicators for ease of troubleshooting.

The Active VGA Balun streamlines cabling in applications such as: security video, video conferencing, digital signage, boardroom projector systems, classroom training, and courtroom video arraignment.
