Kramer Electronics, an ISO 9001:2000 certified company, and a worldwide supplier of audio, video, and computer graphics signal distribution, switching, and processing equipment, recently added two compact video scalers to its Tools product line: the VP-413 and the VP-415.
The video scalers are designed to accept a composite or S-Video (YC) signal and scale it up to a computer graphics video output resolution. They can scale video up to VGA (640x480), SVGA (800x600), XGA (1024x768) or WXGA (1366x768) resolution in RGBHV output format. The VP-413 has an analog output on a 15-pin HD output connector, while the VP-415 has both a digital and an analog output on a DVI-I output connector. Both models have an input selection switch to toggle between the composite video and S-Video (YC) inputs and a resolution button to toggle between the four output resolutions. Both models have 3D de-interlacing circuitry and 3D comb filters resulting in extremely high image quality from such compact and cost-effective units.
“In my experience, never before has something so small delivered such high-quality scaling,” states Chris Kopin, vice president of product development for Kramer Electronics. “The VP-413 and VP-415 can be used confidently in any system where video needs to be externally scaled up to a computer graphics video resolution. Their performance is excellent.”
The scalers are housed in compact Kramer Tools enclosures and 5VDC fed. Both models are in stock in the United States and available for a list price of $345 and $445 respectively.
