In the new book, AV 9000:Defining Quality in Engineered Audio Visual Systems, Mario Maltese, CEO of Audio Visual Resources, Inc., proposes a standard for defining quality in engineered audio visual systems.

AV 9000 includes an introduction to quality management systems for AV designers and installers, as well as technology managers responsible for AV assets. The publication was created to offer a standard to make it easier for a designer to target the product, performance, and practices the customer needs.

“This process is proven to shorten the timeline of projects and give the customer the confidence that they’ve received what they specified. Some of the content has been on our website for years to assist students in achieving their 'CTS-D' certification,” Maltese notes. “Now, the book provides a more detailed 'how-to' for the most important checklist, the Commissioning Checklist, along with details on the instrumentation required to validate performance.”
