Klotz Digital has released a fully automatic microphone mixer, the Micxer. The Vadis-based mixer can be used in conference center and meeting rooms and for panel discussions, simplifying the normally complicated process of handling multi-microphone signals. It facilitates audio production and offers ease of use while providing distinctly improved audio quality. Additionally, it reduces cost by eliminating the need to integrate third-party equipment.

The Micxer automatic mixer can control up to 40 mono or stereo line-level inputs or microphone channels from a single fader.

The first Micxer was installed recently at Putrajaya Convention Center and is used in all halls and meeting rooms, including two exhibition halls, a banquet hall, a plenary hall, and more than 20 meeting rooms.

Microphone Control
Up to 40 mono or stereo line-level inputs or microphone channels can be mixed automatically. Each channel provides an individual level meter for exact level control and offers adjustment to parameters like Pre-Gain, Threshold, Attenuation or Attack, and Release-Time. Equalizers and dynamics can also be inserted in any signal path.

Micxer also allows users to determine a permanent main or presenter microphone with overall priority. Microphones that are temporarily not in use, or go beyond a predetermined number of open microphones, are muted in order to avoid too many participants speaking simultaneously and to eliminate additional noise from open microphone channels. Especially under difficult room-acoustic conditions, audio quality and intelligibility during multi-microphone recording are significantly enhanced.

The complete group of microphones is operated via a single fader on the mixing console. An easy-to-use software GUI facilitates setup and operation and enables remote microphone control via LAN or modem.

Because Micxer is a Vadis-integrated, software-based tool, it is extremely cost-effective. It can either be used as a standalone tool or implemented into all products and solutions that are used in connection with Vadis, such as Varizone, Aeon, Dian routers, and Vadis D.C II consoles and networks.
