The new Control 300 series builds on the Control Contractor series, with seven new models featuring broadband pattern control and easy installation.

Expanding on its innovative Control Contractor line of installation speakers, JBL Professional has introduced the Control 300 series large-format in-ceiling loudspeakers, which includes seven new models. The line consists of six full-range, true point-source coaxial designs featuring 8in. and 12in. drivers and multiple power levels and transformer options, plus a 12in. in-ceiling subwoofer.

Through the use of Constant Coverage waveguide design, the Control 300 models feature exceptionally broadband pattern control, ensuring consistent sound throughout the listening space. The 8in. model goes a step further with the addition of a 12in. diameter waveguide, providing the pattern control of a 12in. horn from an 8in. driver.

The Control 300 models were designed to be easier to install than most large-format ceiling speakers. The new Ez-Rail feature provides a helping hand to hold the loudspeaker in place while fastening, often eliminating the need for a second installer. In addition, the same multi-pin connector as used in the smaller Control Contractor models allows for pre-wiring with simple click-on connection during installation.

To assist the system designer, the Control 300 models have been added to JBL’s DSD Distributed Speaker Design software, which computes speaker spacing along with resulting performance, including maximum sound level capability and expected variation throughout the space.

Component features include Kevlar-reinforced cones, low-saturation transformers, and premium compression drivers. An advanced high-slope crossover network design provides natural midrange sound character along with highly intelligible speech.

The Control 300 series consists of seven new loudspeaker models, along with a line of accessories. Control 321C is a 12in. ceiling coaxial loudspeaker with a power rating of 250W and frequency response down to 34Hz. Control 322C is a high-output 12in. coaxial, handling 400W and response to 32Hz. The Control 328C is the 8in. coaxial with a unique 12in. waveguide to provide the pattern control of a 12in. horn. All these coaxial models contain premium JBL compression drivers. CT versions of these three models add selectable, multi-tap transformers for 70V and 100V distributed loudspeaker lines. The Control 312CS in-ceiling subwoofer completes the lineup.

Accessories include best-in-class back boxes made of heavy-duty 16-gauge steel lined with MDF, providing the acoustic qualities of a wood cabinet in a metal back box form factor. Sleek, contemporary grilles, designed for high-end venues, offer an elegant appearance for a wide variety of decors.
