The Pro I/O open architecture, intelligent control appliance from Calypso Control Systems is now fully compatible with Smart Technologies presentation products.

Calypso Control Systems, manufacturer of pro-AV control solutions, has announced that the combination of its open architecture Pro I/O device controller and Aruba control interface software is now fully compatible with presentation products from Smart Technologies.

This interoperability allows dealers and system integrators to add custom device-control interfaces to existing Smart products. As a result, the presenter never needs to leave the screen in order to control lights, sound, displays, and other presentation equipment.

The Pro I/O is an open architecture, intelligent control appliance that converts inbound control commands to outbound serial (RS-232/RS-422), relay, and IR commands. The number and type of command ports on the Pro I/O can be expanded through the addition of any of several Pro LT expansion modules.

Aruba is an easy-to-use, Windows-based application for building custom graphical device control interfaces. On a standard PC, Aruba works alongside Smart Board software to direct touch commands from the Smart Board interactive whiteboard or Sympodium ID250 interactive pen display over an Ethernet connection to the Pro I/O, which then triggers appropriate devices.

The combined solution will be demonstrated in the Calypso Control booth (#3831) at the InfoComm trade show, June 8-10 in Las Vegas, where special pricing will be offered by Calypso Control on the Pro I/O-Aruba combination.
