VBrick Systems and Clearvue & SVE, a business unit of Discovery Education, announced a partnership to provide pre-loaded Clearvue & SVE content for VBrick’s EtherneTV digital video system. The turnkey solution accelerates K-12 digital video system deployments, simplifies administration, and provides schools with a library of engaging videos that foster active learning.

K-12 schools can quickly install and manage their digital video applications with the combined VBrick and Clearvue & SVE solution—enabling teachers to show informative video to the classroom at the click of a button, without focusing on the underlying technology. Users also gain the flexibility to expand the EtherneTV video system to stream live content, record classroom lectures, and deliver webcasts.

“Successful education practices combine new teaching tools with time-tested lesson plans,” says Ed Crane, technology director, Waterford Public Schools in Connecticut. “New learning applications, such as digital video that engage students, have the ability to transform the classroom. We are significantly reducing our administrative overhead by using the packaged digital video system and content offering from VBrick and Clearvue & SVE.”

“We look forward to working with VBrick to provide K-12 educators with another way to access on-demand digital video,” says Kelli Campbell, vice president, Discovery Education. “VBrick customers can use the breadth and depth of our K-12 educational videos to respond to different learning styles and embrace the teachable moment.”

Schools select from eight Clearvue & SVE content packages that are pre-loaded on EtherneTV video-on-demand servers. To address diverse customer requirements, the separate K-8 and high-school packages span from 100 to more than 850 titles. Additionally, the turnkey solution supports two of the most popular digital video formats—Windows Media and MPEG-2—to integrate seamlessly with existing customer information technology environments.

“The VBrick and Clearvue & SVE partnership is focused on accelerating time to value and removing time-consuming administration of multiple vendor contracts,” says Pat Cassella, senior director of marketing – education, VBrick Systems. “Reliable and easy-to-use digital video applications are increasingly important as classrooms evolve to resonate with the ‘YouTube generation.’”
