Bretford introduced PAL, the Presenter’s Assistant for Learning cart, to provide a completely integrated solution for mounting, operating, and safeguarding all the equipment necessary for presentation in a 25”x23” footprint. The unit can house a document camera, DVD player, mp3 player, sound system, gaming console, and electronics. It has two equipment shelves, a pull-out shelf for a computer, and a ventilated shelf for a projector. All compartments can be locked, and the whole steel unit rolls on casters.
Capable of fitting two 42in. to 50in. LCD or plasma displays side by side for videoconferencing, classrooms, and courtrooms, the Titan Articulating dual-display cart from ClearOne is mobile, and the displays can be folded to fit elevators and doors for easy portability. The unit features an integrated camera-mounting shelf, a 9RU rack 22in. deep, an equipment shelf with a vented front panel, and casters rated at 220lbs. each.
For educational and corporate training venues, Da-Lite markets the Lexington multimedia lectern as a platform for computer-based presentation with room for a desktop computer inside and a flush-mounted spot on top for a monitor up to 17in. diagonal. The keyboard can be slid into the unit and concealed with a fold-up door, and the equipment shelves inside are adjustable for customization. Options include a cooling fan and a pull-out equipment rack.
In the large podium category, Exact Furniture makes the PM-500 large multimedia podium with a locking side drawer for a projector or document camera, built-in cable holes on top, heavy-duty locking casters, and a large split internal compartment with rack rails on one side and adjustable shelves on the other. Optionally, both sides can be fitted with rack rails, and a dual AC outlet, cooling fan, and high-intensity gooseneck light can be added.
