QSC's new multipurpose HPR122i self-powered loudspeaker can be pole-mounted using a stand socket or flown with the aid of nine integral M10 suspension points. Built to meet the same demanding specifications used to create the RMX line of amplifiers, the HPR122i power module provides a total of 500W.

Equipped with a 12in. low-frequency driver featuring a 3in. voice coil and neodymium magnet structure, the HPR122i is operable between 53Hz and 20kHz. The two-way enclosure features a compression driver with a 1.4in. diaphragm coupled to a 75-degree conical horn at the high end.

The HPR122i's proprietary power module incorporates the same circuit designs used on QSC's top-selling RMX Series amplifiers. Thick, deeply-finned aluminum heat-sink extrusions offer mechanical strength and an abundance of surface area that promotes cool operating temperatures, even when the loudspeaker is pushed to extremes. Looking beyond its capacity to produce sheer power, the module additionally includes sophisticated signal processing functions that have been mindfully tailored to the loudspeaker system's specific needs: Each amplifier channel, for instance, is equipped with its own limiting within parameters optimized across the operable bandwidth.

Constructed of premium birch plywood, the HPR122i enclosure features a black textured paint finish and 16-gauge perforated steel grille. Ergonomically placed handles enhance portability, while the cabinet's nine threaded M10 inserts facilitate a wide-ranging number of suspension options. An LED power indicator is mounted on the grille that can be turned off as needed via a rear panel switch.

Measuring 27in. high by 14.5in. wide and 15in. deep, the HPR122i weighs 60lbs. Now shipping, the unit's estimated street price is $799.
