At InfoComm, dnp denmark introduced the Supernova 23-23, its new high-gain screen material for better performance in higher ambient light environments and improved picture quality with ultrahigh contrast. First applied to dnp’s Supernova One and Supernova Core products, the material has an on-axis peak gain of 2.3 and offers a 35 percent improvement in horizontal viewing angles from the company’s 20-20 screen material and 20 percent better center to corner uniformity for much higher gain at wide viewing angles. The material is currently being phased into other products including the Supernova Infinity.

Draper has expanded its Access line of projection screens to include the larger Access XL featuring the non-tensioned Access XL/Series E and the tab-tensioned Access XL/Series V. Each line is available in a wide variety of screen size and aspect ratio. As an upgrade to an existing Access model, the new line uses the same switches, remotes, and controls as the original types and comes with sliding adjustable mounting brackets, a ceiling-recessed case, a motor inside the roller for quiet operation, and it’s available in 110V and 220V variants. Screen selection includes matte white, glass-beaded, high-contrast gray, M1300, M2500, and HiDef gray.

A wide range of input formats and six bayonet-style lens options highlight the versatility of the ImagePro 8950P projector from Dukane. The unit can input two component video sources on triple RCA or BNC connectors, S-Video, two composite sources on RCA or BNC, two RGB 15-pin D-sub, one HDMI, and one DVI-D. Image controls include freeze, electronic magnification, and pan. Remote control is connected on 9-pin RS-232 in and out as well as 100 Base-T Ethernet. The LCD projector uses three polysilicon inorganic TFT imaging elements, and security provisions include a Kensington slot, security bar, and transition detector.

The dual-lamp LC-HDT1000 from Eiki offers 3LCD Plus One imaging, 10,000 ANSI lumens, and native 2048x1080 resolution compatible with normal and widescreen video inputs up to 1080p/2K. Projecting images up to 600in. diagonal, the unit accepts analog and digital computer and video input signals, it fits a variety of optional lenses, and offers powered zoom and focus. The LC-HDT1000 also features digital keystone correction, lens shift of 50 percent, and horizontal shift of up to 10 percent. The unit has a mechanical shutter for true black no show (AV mute) and 10-bit color processing, edge blending, closed caption decoding, and a built-in test pattern. Remote control via RS-232 is standard while IP network control is optional.

Elite Screens designed its Osprey Tension Dual motorized home cinema projection screen to be push button selectable between 2.35:1 and 16:9 aspect ratio formats while maintaining a centered image. It features side tension cords to maintain a flat viewing area on its CineWhite matte white front projection surface. As with all of Elite’s electronic projection screens, the Osprey Tension Dual Mode screen comes with a full control package including internal IR and RF receivers, IR and RF remotes, and an RJ-45 Ethernet port.

Epson PowerLite Pro Z8000WUNL

The Epson PowerLite Pro Z8000WUNL is a 3-chip LCD projector controllable on 9-pin RS-232 and Ethernet on an RJ-45 connection including the motorized zoom, focus, and lens shift. Designed with center lens mounting for easy screen alignment, the unit can also be directly powered on and off with a wall switch and can accept six optional lenses for a customized throw. Features include Quick Corner for independent image corner control, a built-in closed captioning decoder, cable interface cover, side access filter, and rear access to the dual lamps. It produces a native resolution of 1920x1200 and accepts inputs on D-sub HD 15, BNC component, HDMI, and DVI.
