The JBL Control 47C/T two-way, 6.5in. coaxial ceiling loudspeaker provides 120-degree conical coverage and a frequency range of 55Hz to 20kHz. The speaker features JBL’s Radiation Boundary Integrator (RBI) in a coaxial design with a 6.5in. polypropylene woofer with butyl rubber surround and a 1in. soft-dome tweeter mounted to a 10in. diameter waveguide. The maximum rated SPL is 116dB peak. The 47C/T is designed for 8Ω or 70V/100V operation.
Is it an RGB LED spotlight or a 2in. point-source compact speaker? The K-Array KTL22C comprises a single long-excursion full-range driver and six 2.5W RGB LEDs. The frequency range is 150Hz to 18kHz with a maximum SPL of 107dB peak. Horizontal and vertical coverage is 90 degrees. The operating voltage for the LEDs is 22VDC to 28VDC. Available finishes are black or aluminum.
Kramer Electronics’ SPK-C800-Pro Complete K-overage ESD (Equal Sound Dispersion) ceiling speaker features four pivoting 3/4in. silk dome tweeters positioned two on each side of an 8in. polypropylene cone woofer. Designed for application in a suspended ceiling, available models are: full tile (2’x2’), half tile (1’x2’), and stereo or mono. The frequency range is 60Hz to 20kHz and coverage is 180 degrees.
The CH1-1000 Ceiling-Hugger from OAP Audio provides a frequency response of 60Hz to 17kHz and a 170ºx45º coverage pattern with a mid/high 6.5in. cone and coaxial 1in. soft dome driver. A down-firing 12in. woofer covers low frequencies. The CH1-1000 is designed for application where low ceiling height prohibits use of a speaker cluster.
Peavey provides the PHR 860 8in. metal can ceiling speaker that comprises an 8in. woofer with polypropylene cone and rubber surround and a 3/4in. soft dome tweeter. The frequency response is 80Hz to 20kHz with 70V transformer taps for 60W, 30W, 15W, 7.5W, and 3.75W. It is also 100V capable. A companion sub, the PHR 860S Sub, extends the low frequency response down to 55Hz.
The Penton CCS6T high-performance, closed-back ceiling speaker features a 6in. polypropylene low-frequency driver with a coaxially mounted 1in. titanium dome tweeter. The CCS6T provides a coverage pattern of 130 degrees and a frequency response of 60Hz to 20kHz. The SPL at 1W 1M is 89dB. Input is via Phoenix-style terminal block, and quick-connect flip-out and tighten connectors are employed for ease of installation.
The AD-C821 from QSC Audio Products is a fully integrated system with an 8in. low-frequency woofer and a 1.4in. diaphragm compression high-frequency driver. The optimized enclosure provides a low-frequency response down to 52Hz and the highs extend to 18kHz. The calculated peak SPL is 120dB and coverage is 90 degrees horizontal and vertical. Packages include the AD-C821 loudspeaker, tile rails, and c-ring and square or round grilles.
The Monitor Q Series from RCF includes the MQ 50C ceiling monitor speaker. The MQ 50C comprises a 5in. polypropylene-coated paper cone low-frequency transducer and a fabric dome 1in. high frequency transducer mounted on a constant Q waveguide. The speaker achieves a maximum SPL of 112dB and a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz. The coverage is 120 degrees. The enclosure is UV stabilized, auto-extinguishing high-density polystyrene. Available colors include paintable white or silver.
