CABLES

Kramer C-R3VM/R3VM and C-R4VM/R4VM series high-performance component video cables are built from high-resolution mini coax cable to provide flexibility and ease of use in home theater and professional applications. The C-R3VM/R3VM family has three conductors for component video (YPbPr, YCbCr, YR-YB-Y, and YUV) signal use, and the C-R4VM/R4VM has four conductors — three for the video signals and one for digital audio (S/PDIF, Dolby Digital, DTS, Pro Logic II, etc). The cables are compatible with any standard- or high-definition analog component video signal. The cables come in standard lengths of 3ft., 6ft., 10ft., 15ft., 25ft., 35ft., and 50ft.

TRANSMITTER

Magenta Research introduces two new Cat-5 transmitter models: The first transmitter is built into Mondo Matrix, a Cat-5 full-matrix switcher scalable from 16×16 to 256×256. The switcher offers Mondo Direct input cards, which carry inputs for 16 sources to deliver seamless video plus audio or serial to a Mondo Matrix. The second new Cat-5 transmitter is the MultiView STx, a model that, when combined with MultiView series receivers, hubs, and switchers, distributes high-resolution video plus audio 1ft. to 1,500ft. from the source. Supported video types include 1080p high definition, QXGA (2048×1536), 1366×768, component, S-Video, and composite.

MOUNT

The Peerless PRG Precision Gear projector mount features patent-pending precision gear design to simplify image alignment. Users can perform exact tilt-and-roll image positioning either by turning two adjustment knobs with a Phillips screwdriver or by extending the knobs to adjust by hand. Once the installer has set the precision gear to the desired position, the mount will hold its place even during projector maintenance.

EXTENDER

The Extron FOX 500 fiber-optic extender is a transmitter and receiver set for sending high-resolution RGB, stereo audio, and RS-232 control over a single fiber. It uses Extron's exclusive zero-compression, all-digital technology for transmission of computer images up to UXGA resolution and features ease of use for very long distance signal transmission in professional AV systems. Two models of the FOX 500 are available, one supporting multimode fiber at 850nm for short-range applications up to 450ft. within buildings and facilities and the other supporting single-mode as well as multimode fiber at 1,310nm for very long-range transmissions up to 18.75 miles.

CABLE

Gepco LSK04HD heavy-duty ultra-low skew UTP cable is designed for the transmission of component analog video in a twisted-pair format without hardware delay compensation. Based on the LSK04, each pair in the LSK04HD is constructed from 23-gauge solid copper and a precision 100Ω dielectric. Its unique double-jacket design provides added strength and diameter. The inner jacket maintains the critical spacing of the twisted-pair elements, while the outer TPE jacket offers additional strength, durability, diameter, and abrasion resistance.

AUDIENCE-RESPONSE SYSTEM

The Fleetwood Group Reply CRS960X handheld wireless base station is designed to poll Reply CRS5200 wireless audience-response keypads and display session questions, individual responses, results graphs, and other system parameters on a large LCD, eliminating the need for an external video display. A video port is also included on the base station to permit connection to a television, projector, or other display device when one is available. Together, the CRS960X handheld base station and CRS5200 keypads comprise a portable two-way wireless interactive system that can serve a variety of simple group-response applications.

DVI I/O BOARD

Broadcast Pix's new DVI input/output board for the company's Slate switcher line will add both a DVI input and a DVI output to the switcher's modular I/O architecture, which already includes SD digital and analog — and later this year, HD for 720p and 1080i. The new DVI board also includes adapters for VGA I/O. The new DVI or VGA output will enable Slate to feed a high-resolution signal directly to a projector. While Slate is often used with inputs from laptops via an S-Video input, the new DVI or VGA input will enable a high-resolution input from a computer.
