Atlona Technologies AT-HD-BIR40SR

Atlona Technologies released an HDMI extender featuring bidirectional IR. Atlona's AT-HD-BIR40SR extends HDMI signal extremely long distances without suffering signal degradation, according to the company. Bidirectional IR allows users to control units connected from either end of the HD-BIR40SR. While the similar unit, AT-HD-IR40SR, was popular among many installers and control companies, a common request was the addition of bidirectional IR. Now with the release of the new HD-BIR40SR, users are now capable of transmitting IR both directions with this HDMI 1.3 extender. Atlona's HDMI 1.3 extender is capable of extending distances up to 130ft. over Cat-5/-6/-7 with resolutions up to 1080p. Along with 3D support, HDCP compliance, and full EDID/DDC pass-through, this unit will support all of the latest HDMI audio formats for hi-fi audio to go along with a pristine picture. Price: $399
