The Bluetooth-enabled Expedition XP1000 portable PA system from Samson can input wireless streaming from iPhones, iPads, and laptops. Its 10-channel mixer has an integrated 1000W Class-D amplifier, and its four mic/line input channels have XLR and 1/4in. connectors that feature a built-in compressor. There are also 16 presets of high-quality DSP effects, phantom power, and stereo monitor outputs. The two-way vented speaker enclosures have 10in. LF drivers and wide dispersion from 60˚x90˚ horns. Constructed of ABS high-impact plastic, the cabinets are equipped with integrated 1 3/8in. speaker stand mounts.
Sennheiser’s idea behind the LSP 500 Pro was to emphasize mobility, flexible operation, and wireless connectivity not only for microphone links but for control as well. Bluetooth links and UHF transmission between speaker units leave most of the cabling behind, and users can expand the system up to 20 speakers. Add a Wi-Fi router, and multiple speakers can all be wireless-pad-controlled. There is also Bluetooth streaming, USB recording, and playback along with hot-swappable batteries.
The VQ NET 60 Live from Tannoy comes complete with digital signal processing, network control, and dual-channel Class-D amplification for tightly controlled, high-SPL coverage. The three-way, full-range point source system covers a 60-degree conical pattern using two 12in. LF transducers and a dual concentric compression driver loaded into a single PSW waveguide. The birch plywood enclosure is vented and internally braced under a textured black-painted finish and a powder-coated, perforated-steel grille.
For portability and permanent installation, the h-8 high-definition, full-range speaker system from Vue Audiotechnik provides a wide 100˚x40˚ coverage pattern and integrated DSP with SystemVUE network control and monitoring. The two-way h-8 pairs an 8in. LF transducer with a 1in. exit compression driver and powers these with a 2-channel high efficiency power amp. The unit features a pole mount, integrated hanging points, and optional rigging hardware.
The Yamaha STAGEPAS 600i is like packing up your studio and throwing it in the car. Anchored by a 600W power amp and twin two-way speakers with 10in. woofers and 1.4in. voice coil compression drivers, the system includes a 10-channel detachable mixer. It can connect iPod/iPhone on USB while using its SPX digital reverbs. The onboard feedback suppressor makes setups easy in demanding environments. Each mixer channel has three-band EQ, switchable mono/stereo inputs, and phantom power.
