Recording studio features and wireless connectivity have brought a new dimension to taking sound on the road in highly mobile, quick setup sound systems. Wi-Fi remote control and DSP presets can be found on many of the portable PA systems listed here. We also have a look at small but powerful speaker enclosures that can form a great foundation for a custom-made road rig used by musicians, presenters, and educators, allowing them to push a button or two and then concentrate on the task at hand.

Small enough to get around but big enough to handle high SPL, the Point12 from Adamson Systems can be used for speech systems or live bands. The two-way cabinet has a rotatable waveguide to provide a variety of coverage angles and its anisometric hexagon shape makes it easy to use as a floor monitor. For more punch in the bass, the Point 12 can be combined with the Point 215 Sub and its two 15in. NeoKevlar LF drivers.
