The JBL Pro VRX loudspeakers features an Array Configuration Selector, a convenient series of switches on each enclosure that controls the output of each high-frequency section in the array.
Demonstrating the unique ability of the JBL Professional VRX portable line array series to provide sound in a variety of environments, Teer Engineering recently installed 14 VRX932LA cabinets in a 5.1 surround sound configuration for a new lecture hall on the Full Sail Real World Education campus in Orlando, Fla. The multi-purpose space is being used for classes, presentations, labs, special events, and open houses.
Teer Engineering of Orlando, Fla., has installed audio/video systems throughout the Full Sail campus and the central Florida area. The lecture hall called for a loudspeaker system with the versatility to be configured in a 5.1 surround sound setup, with the power to cover a room with a 150-seat capacity.
“At first we were concerned about setting up a line array in 5.1, but it turned out really well,” says John Teer, president of Teer Engineering. “The superb pattern control of the VRX series allowed us to zoom on the areas we wanted to hit. There were lots of areas we didn’t want sound reflecting off, and we were able to aim the cabinets accordingly because they were so easy to fly.”
Ideal for smaller environments requiring line array performance without the long-throw characteristics of larger systems, the introduction of the VRX932LA brings the unmatched qualities of JBL’s VerTec series to small to medium entertainment venues, AV rental companies, and entertainers traveling with their own PA system.
