Vutec will demonstrate the newest addition to its Vision X line—Vision XFT—and other Vutec projection screens at InfoComm 2006 using Digital Projection International’s Mercury 5000 HD three-chip DLP projector.

The Mercury 5000 HD has a 1280x720 native resolution, with 4500 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio greater than 1200:1. Vision XFT is a native 2.35:1, flat fixed, vertical masking system for anamorphic lens projectors that maintains constant vertical height for all three standard aspect ratios—2.35:1 CinemaScope, 16:9 HDTV, and 4:3 NTSC TV—in a single projection screen.

Vutec also plans to use DPI projectors at upcoming tradeshows to showcase the superior quality of its Vutec and Vision X lines of video projection screens.

“There is no factor more important in achieving the ultimate video experience than picture quality,” says Kevin R. Baisley, vice president of marketing and sales for Vutec. “That calls for the right video projection screen along with the proper projector, and DPI's Mercury HD has demonstrated its ability to support the highest-quality home and commercial applications.”

“For these reasons,” adds Baisley, “we’re proud to showcase Vutec’s lines of video projection screens using DPI’s high-performance projectors at InfoComm 2006, at CEDIA in September, and during the CES show next January, as the company continues to expand its portfolio.”
