The MFR 3G/HD/SD/ASI Routing Switcher from For-A can link together multiple units and features SNMP and browser remote control. The MFR-3232 extends the features to 32 I/O and its inputs, along with those of the other models, are fully compliant with SMPTE 424M, 292M, 259M, and DVB-ASI. Options include redundant CPUs and power supplies. The chop function allows “A-B” comparison between two sources by holding one button and repeatedly pushing another. Several sizes of rack-mounted remote control units are available.
Configurable in sizes from 8x4 to 32x32, the Pathfinder Series matrix switchers from FSR are HD capable for signals with resolution up to 2Kx1K and use split-mode switching, allowing each color channel to be switched separately. The units include a genlock input, optional balanced stereo sound, user-customized protected button labels, 32 global or selective output presets, and remote control through serial or IP ports. The larger models such as the 32x32 also feature redundant power supplies and power supply failure alerts via email.
With 16 multi-format HD video inputs and outputs, the 2RU Gefen GefenPRO 16x16 3GSDI Matrix matrix handles any source in SDI, HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI on BNC connectors. The unit features dual power supplies for critical routing applications, and it offers front-panel, IR, RS-232, and LAN connected control. It supports resolutions up to 1080p and 1920x1200, and it can operate with black burst and tri-level sync genlock. The switcher can be configured with its built-in web server, and it also features a front-panel LCD display.
Designed for large-scale mission-critical signal switching environments, the Harris Platinum routers handle SD, HD, 3Gbps, and audio in a matrix up to 512x512 in rack frames to 28RU. Featuring MADI support, hot-swappable modules, redundant power supplies, and an optional 8-channel frame sync input card, the units expand in groups of 8-channel I/O for coaxial or fiber connectivity. There is a selection of control panel hardware augmented by software and web-based applications with user-configurable GUIs. Digital and analog audio support includes up to 16 embedded AES streams per video input.
The new Draco tera compact from IHSE USA is a high-performance KVM 1RU frame for switching DVI-D, USB, USB 2.0, RS-232, and audio over Cat-5 cable up to 140 meters per end. The Draco tera matrix Compact is offered in 16, 32, and 48 ports. The key advantage is the compact design and wide range of competitively priced KVM extenders offered to support video resolutions up to 1920x1200 at 60Hz. Various control software packages are offered, so you only pay for the functions needed. Adding future software control features is simple via quick and easy system keys.
The 4x4 VGA Matrix Switcher from KanexPro can switch full HD 1080p sources on 15-pin Sub-D connectors along with audio on 3.5mm TRS jacks. Housed in a rack-mountable metal enclosure, the unit sends out EDID-compliant video, and it can be controlled via the front panel, IR remote, or RS-232. Each channel has a front-panel LED that indicates signal presence, and the switcher operates on an external 5VDC power supply. A single front-panel button is used for input/output switching.
An HDMI “fast switch”, the VS-88HFS 8X8 HDMI matrix switcher is equipped by Kramer Electronics with a scaling chip on each of its eight outputs. The HDCP-compatible output video signal parameters are matched to the native resolution of the display with integral EDID management, and each audio signal can be de-embedded in analog or digital S/PDIF formats. Switching speed is paramount on this unit, whether between HDMI sources at the same or different resolutions.
