OneLAN, digital-signage specialist, launches its latest software release including new features ensuring greater interactivity and connectivity at an affordable price. As the boundaries between kiosk and digital-signage solutions become blurred, the Net-Top-Box (NTB) can become in effect a kiosk portal—opening up a diverse range of new interactive applications. Version 6.2 of the NTB software now comes with an option to allow touch interactivity, granting users access to content relevant to their interest. The NTB allows a screen to be divided into multiple zones, and each zone can have an independent playlist with touch interactivity. This permits part of the screen to be dedicated to a specific item of interest, such as an interactive shopping directory or way finder. The general-purpose input-output (GPIO) capability provides the facility with direct playout by using external device inputs—including infrared motion detectors, switches, buttons, or even external systems such as SCADA and building-control systems.
