Wegener, a leading provider of equipment for television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, has announced a new order from Satellite Store Link (SSL), to launch networked digital signage in Mexico. Wegener’s equipment will be used to dynamically distribute and display information and advertisements to bank customers and employees in an initial deployment of 1,200 locations throughout Mexico.
“SSL is excited to launch this advanced digital signage network with Wegener equipment. After researching Wegener’s extensive experience with private networks, we are confident we have the solution that will allow us to provide cost-effective national coverage while offering many opportunities to regionalize video, data, and audio services,” says William Narchi, CEO of SSL.
Wegener’s field-proven solutions are used around the world in retail environments for video, audio, and digital signage. Wegener’s digital signage solution for SSL includes iPump Media Servers, IP-based peripheral decoders, and Compel network control for live or store-forward content. Unique programming content for individual retail departments, regions, or stores can be distributed and updated by central network operators. To ensure reliable full-time operations Wegener leverages broadcast expertise and advanced network control capabilities to remotely control each receiver for hands-free operations. Employees at display locations do not have to manage or interact with the receiversfunctions and upgrades are scheduled and managed remotely from the Compel network control system at the central operations center. Wegener iPump video decoders are optimized for superior video splicing between advertisements to provide a viewing experience you would expect from professional-grade television equipment.
The Wegener iPump Media Server offers marketing managers multiple outputs for simultaneous opportunities to distribute video, audio, and graphics to customers and employees.
“Our focus on the retail space continues to grow. We pride ourselves in successfully translating over 25 years of commercial media distribution experience into revenue-generating solutions for retailers,” states Ned L. Mountain, president and COO of Wegener. “We believe the solution ordered by SSL provides their marketing team with the tools necessary to quickly launch a network and with the maximum flexibility to blend multiple marketing programs and corporate objectives. The power of our Compel control system continues to dominate system designs requiring realtime control of complex networks.”
SSL’s order was received during Wegener’s current third quarter of fiscal 2007 and is valued at $3.2 million. Shipments are scheduled for delivery during Wegener’s third and fourth quarters of fiscal 2007.
