PHOENIX GOLD INTERNATIONAL SOLD TO INVESTMENT GROUP
The PHX AP Acquisitions investment group and Phoenix Gold Vice President Tom O'Mara have purchased Phoenix Gold International, the parent company of the consumer and professional audio brands Phoenix Gold, AudioSource, and Carver. The new company will become a private LLC and have a new executive team, with Jonathan Cooley as CEO and O'Mara continuing as president. The company's new direction will focus on new products, revamped brand positioning, and channel strategies, which will all be implemented over the next few months as part of the new business plan. Also as part of the new plan, all domestic manufacturing will be terminated and the resources will be allocated to the core business focus.
SMALL TREE COMMUNICATIONS AND FOUNDRY NETWORKS OFFER MAC OS X NETWORK SOLUTIONS
Small Tree Communications has joined with Foundry Networks to offer complete end-to-end network solutions for Apple Mac OS X systems. Working in tandem with Small Tree's multi-port network interface cards (NIC), Foundry's FastIron series of Ethernet switches will provide high-performance network connections at competitive price points for Mac OS X users. Creative content facilities will have the capability to provide users with multiple multi-port Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) connections and multiple 10GbE uplinks to file servers using a single FastIron switch.
YA MOGU LAUNCHES BAR NETWORK IN RIO DE JANEIRO
Scala announced a new visual communication proposition to operate in the Rio de Janeiro select “botequim” (a term for a typical type of bar) segment. Ya Mogu, a Brazilian-based digital signage company and Scala-certified reseller, centrally manages plasma screens and digital projectors in the six bars of the Conversa Fiada Botequim chain. Ya Mogu develops content specifically for the audience profile, which includes interactive quizzes, outside ads, and a realtime local news feed.
AVIOM ISSUES CERTIFICATE OF ROHS COMPLIANCE
Aviom has issued a Certificate of Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Compliance covering all of its products including digital snakes, personal mixers, and I/O modules. The certificate confirms that Aviom's products comply with the European Union's RoHS Directive, which was established to address concerns regarding the accumulation of hazardous wastes resulting from consumer products.
EUE SCREEN GEMS STUDIOS CHOOSES SSL CONSOLE FOR DIGITAL UPGRADE
EUE Screen Gems Studios, the New York-based division of multimedia company EUE Screen Gems, has chosen a Solid State Logic C100 digital broadcast console as part of a complete facility renovation project. The audio console provides high SD quality and 5.1 support for going into HD format. The C100 also features metering, EQ, compression graphical feedback flexibility, and an expandable control surface.
GEFEN EXTENDERS RECEIVE NVIDIA CERTIFICATION
When Nvidia needed to power its remote workstations at Siggraph 2006 using computers located nearly 200ft. away, the company turned to Gefen, using its DVI DL Booster, USB Extender, and approximately 150ft. of dual-link DVI cabling. The Gefen units were run through Nvidia's compatibility lab to ensure signal quality over the long runs, resulting in vibrant, high-definition visuals. Gefen's extenders are first to achieve Nvidia certification for optimal signal quality over long distances.
NEW ELAN TOUCHPAD AWARDED ELECTRONIC HOUSE'S 2006 PRODUCT OF THE YEAR
Electronic House Magazine has named Elan Home Systems' highly anticipated Olè Film Interactive Touchpad as one of its Electronic House Products of the Year for 2006. Scheduled for full unveiling at CEDIA EXPO 2006, the touchpad establishes a new interface product category for the industry and offers 1,500 unique design possibilities.
