Imagine collaborating over video from your laptop with a colleague a continent away with one simple click. Now imagine that you are the IT administrator who has just united an entire organization with PC video without touching a single employee’s laptop. Tandberg announced a first-of-its-kind PC videoconferencing solution, called Movi. Movi allows busy professionals to enjoy PC-based, visual communication from anywhere at any time without making an appointment with the IT department.

Movi is a server-based video application that redefines ease of use. Users can click to initiate video calls in one of three places: a link from a meeting invite, a permanent link on a corporate intranet, or an address in the Movi directory. All that is required is a webcam, microphone, speakers, and a computer with an Internet connection. Movi does the rest, seamlessly connecting users to a full video infrastructure via the Movi window.

The Movi solution allows users to visually communicate with colleagues for enhanced productivity—anywhere they may be located. Face-to-face collaboration occurs right on the PC, speeding decision-making, leveraging remote expertise, and unifying organizations.

Movi is the first PC video product to feature one-touch installation, and IT departments can manage Movi centrally through the Web. With no locally installed software, updates, diagnostics, and measurement are much simpler than with other PC video tools.

Movi is currently being tested with several Tandberg customers and will be available for commercial release in the second quarter of 2007. For more information, visit Tandberg’s Launch Pad, a new interactive site that enables visitors to explore and provide feedback on Movi.
