DISPLAY WALL PROCESSOR

Jupiter Systems' Fusion 960 display wall processor delivers greater CPU power, memory, and BUS bandwidth with its upgraded model. The improved midrange computer runs faster with dual Intel Xeon processors running at 3.2GHz, a PCI Express switched network of 64bit/66MHz PCI slots, and up to 34 expansion slots using the high-performance expansion chassis. Using ATI Mobility GPU with 16MB of on-chip memory per output and a core clock speed of 225MHz, it provides high-performance graphics and video. Up to 16 analog RGB inputs can be added to accommodate sources with resolutions as high as 1600×1200.

Sony's presence in the large-venue projection market has been strengthened by the expansion of its family of professional products to include a full line of personal displays (IT monitors) and public displays (LCD and plasma models). The displays incorporate Sony's SXRD 4K projection technology, which offers more than four times the resolution of current high-definition home theater systems.

VIDEO ENCODER AND DECODER

The Hai1000 is HaiVision's next generation in collaboration suite and boardroom infrastructure. This multi-stream system is capable of low-latency encoding and decoding to deliver feeds between interactive suites across the nation. The 40in. GM-H40L2GU HD LCD monitor expands JVC's ProHD product lineup. It accepts multiformat signals, including 1080/24psF, and is compatible with all video formats such as analog, DVI-D, and optional HD-SDI. Epson America's PowerLite 6100i projects visual content with sharp details and rich colors with up to 3500 ANSI lumens in 1024×768 native resolution. The multimedia projector features a user-friendly design with closed captioning, a 5W speaker, a plus- and minus-30-degree keystone, and 1.6X optical zoom. The new filtration system captures air particles to prevent harm to the projector's internal components, while password controls and security cable hookup supports theft prevention.

PORTABLE PROJECTOR

Mitsubishi Electric expands the portability of its PocketProjector in its second generation, the LED-based PK-20, with an SD card reader. Ready for on-the-fly photo sharing and presentations, the projector also features virtually noiseless operation and instant on/off control, and connects to most devices with a video output. It combines Texas Instruments' Digital Light Processing technology with LED technology, for a brightness increase of more than 100 percent compared to its predecessor.

HD DVD PLAYER

Leading the PC, CE, and wireless industries in integrated digital and high-definition multimedia, InterVideo's WinDVD HD is the first software HD DVD disc player to include Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus technologies for high-definition audio.

DIGITAL SIGNAGE SOFTWARE

Scala's next generation of digital signage software, Scala InfoChannel 5, introduces the new InfoChannel Content Manager, which features scheduling and planning tools and template support. The software has multichannel support per layer, auto-scaling, and auto-rotation, improving visual quality and performance from previous versions. It also includes the standard tools such as realtime rendering to ensure smaller file sizes and flexible integration with external systems using VBScript, JavaScript, or Python.

VIDEO PROCESSOR

Zandar's Predator series of high-resolution MultiViewers process quality HDTV and SD video images. Adding new models HD12 and HD16 to the lineup, the MultiViewers can now accept up to 12 or 16 inputs and can be easily operated over a LAN network. They include an array of operational features, including audio and video monitoring, UMD and tallies, automatic aspect ratio management, and auto-sensing of HD-SDI and SDI inputs up to 1080p.

SWITCHER

Extron Electronics' new ISS 506 switcher features six inputs fully configurable with audio, four of which accept any signal from RGB to composite video. Two outputs are also available, and an optional third output can be configured for HD-SDI, DVI-D, or scan-converted video. The switcher provides seamless switching between RGB, HDTV, and standard-definition video sources, with separate Preview and Program outputs to enable an operator to preview the source before presenting it live to the audience.

HDV RECORDER

Macrosystem's HDV recorder displays HDV on smaller, less expensive studio monitors in up to 1920×1200 resolution. It uses the DVI connection for HDV output, and accepts all forms of HVD video, including 720p, 1080i, and 1080p in both PAL and NTSC. The recorder uniquely offers realtime HDV transcoding software for editing, and uses an IDE drive to digitally archive video.

PROJECTION SCREEN

The 16ft.-wide Tensioned Cosmopolitan Electrol screen from Da-Lite offers standard wall- and ceiling-mounting options and a three-position Decora-style wall switch. It includes a two-piece aluminum extruded case with removal access panel.
