TOTAL HOME CONTROL WITH LIFE|WARE SOFTWARE
Merging the functions of a media center with new hardware from Exceptional Innovation, Life|ware's 1.0.2 home control software creates a digitally integrated living experience. Working with the media center platform, the software creates a smart home environment by combining the digital entertainment functionality of a Media Center with the whole-house control of devices such as lighting, drapes, HVAC, and security systems. By using an Xbox360 as a media center extender, the complete Life|ware and media center experience is distributed to another room and seamlessly integrated into with the Xbox gaming experience.
MANÁSAT CHANNEL EXPANDS PRODUCTION FACILITIES WITH ROSS SYNERGY
The ManáSat Channel, an evangelic ministry TV channel that is part of the Igrejamana Church in Lisbon, Portugal, has invested in a Ross Video Synergy 2 SD digital production switcher to be installed in its news production studio. The digital production switcher will be used for ManáSat’s multi-camera TV programs, both with and without virtual sets.
HM ELECTRONICS CELEBRATES 35 YEARS OF SUCCESS
HM Electronics has announced the commemoration of its 35th anniversary providing wireless audio systems to the quick-service restaurant and professional audio markets. HME pioneered the first wireless drive-through audio system for quick-service restaurants in 1984. The company provides products to more than 80 countries and has installed more than 50,000 systems worldwide.
QSC AUDIO PRODUCTS INVESTS IN INDUSTRY EDUCATION
The NSCA Education Foundation announced that QSC Audio Products is investing $25,000 in its education efforts for the commercial electronic systems industry. In the upcoming year, the NSCA Education Foundation will be focusing on funding MasterFormat 04 implementation tools and training, funding education to assist the industry transition to convergence, student outreach, and increasing industry awareness of education programs and funding.
MONSTER AND ISF DONATE TO ELF FOUNDATION
ELAN EXPANDS WITH NEW HEADQUARTERS
From Sept. 1 to Dec. 1, Monster Cable and The Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) will donate $10 of the proceeds from each purchase of the Monster/ISF Calibration Wizard to the Elf Foundation. The product can be purchased via the ISF website (www.imagingscience.com) and Monster Cable website (www.monstercable.com). The Elf Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that builds “Rooms of Magic”—private entertainment theaters—for children’s hospitals.
Elan Home Systems has moved into its new, larger corporate offices in Lexington, Ky. The move represents Elan’s continued rapid growth, having doubled its space and staff in just three years (as of August 2006). The new space includes a larger, dedicated Headquarters Training Center for on-site, hands-on training for Elan dealers and installers.
