Developed as a tool to provide non-programmers with an effective means of quickly and easily controlling integrated AV systems, Calypso’s new Encore v1.0 software takes a standard Windows drag-and-drop approach to the task of control interface development.

Offering features such as pre-defined button libraries with custom sizing and labeling, graphics import, an event scheduler, interface templates, button hold-down, and automated third party .exe launching, Encore can be used on a standalone basis that steers user-defined commands through serial ports or to IP addresses, or in conjunction with Calypso ION, Pro I/O, or UT controllers.

The software additionally takes full advantage of the event database architecture found on all Calypso controllers, simplifying the process of triggering control by sending event numbers to controllers, or over a network, complete with full 128-bit encrypted security.

“Our new Encore software strikes just the right balance between ease of use, functionality, and price, while simultaneously taking a good bit of the mystery out of control interface development,” Calypso’s Vice President of Product Marketing Rick Mathewson says. “Given the levels of technology in use today, control systems define the user experience more than ever. If you can’t control technology, it doesn’t work for you—it’s that simple. Our Encore software offers versatility, reliability, and affordability in a convenient package that lets you take charge and gain full ownership of any system. It’s a new and powerful tool system integrators can provide to their clients, but doesn’t require a new skill set or expert to use and install.”
