Every year, NSCA Expo attendees have a chance to get a closer look at products and installation techniques when they visit the show floor and attend some of the nearly 500 hours of available courses. Perhaps most unique to NSCA Expo is a tradition that was established at the very beginning of the event's history — the numerous audio demonstration rooms. Located off the show floor so that audio setups can replicate those used in real-world applications, the audio demonstration rooms provide a rare opportunity to hear many different manufacturers' top-notch systems in one place.

“This is one of the rich traditions that we have been able to maintain over the years,” says Chuck Wilson, NSCA executive director. “NSCA Expo is the perfect venue to see and hear new products, and the audio demonstration rooms offer a unique opportunity to be able to do that. It's a wonderful opportunity for manufacturers to show their products in a side-by-side comparison.”

“We value the demo rooms because we feel that they really provide the opportunity that most of our existing customers, as well as our prospective customers, are looking for, which is to sonically experience our loudspeakers in a relatively neutral environment,” says Paul Freudenberg, vice president of sales and marketing for L-Acoustics U.S. (demo room W205B).

Ken DeLoria, product manager for Community Loudspeakers (demo room 204A) also appreciates the demo room setup. “The opportunity to let contractors and consultants hear our products in use is critical,” DeLoria says. “Specifications are extremely important, but sound quality cannot be conveyed by reading a spec sheet. The expo demo room gives us a chance to let people hear the result of the hundreds of hours of work that go into developing a loudspeaker line.”

ENHANCE YOUR TOOLKIT WITH NEW IDEAS

New to the show floor at NSCA Expo this year is the “Tools of the Trade” exhibitor area. There, attendees will find demonstrations of essential products for their toolbox.

“We hand-picked the exhibitors for the Tools of the Trade area,” says Chuck Wilson, NSCA executive director. “Our goal was to bring in some new exhibitors and highlight some existing ones that can demonstrate new techniques and tactics that will expedite work on the job site. These include new test equipment and other labor-saving devices that attendees might not have heard of before, but once discovered, will become an essential part of their toolkit.”

Be sure to check out the Tools of the Trade area, which will feature products from Eastern Manufacturing, Four Star Wire & Cable, KSI Professional, Leader Instruments, NKK Switches, Rodman & Company, and Sencore.

THE DRUNK UNKLES RETURN ON AN EDUCATIONAL MISSION

Kick back with your industry colleagues while supporting the NSCA Education Foundation on Friday, March 16, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The industry's own Drunk Unkles are back for Expo 2007, and they'll be taking the stage at Howl at the Moon located at 8815 International Drive in Orlando.
