INFOCOMM SYSTEMS INTEGRATORS LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

If you are an InfoComm member and a systems integrator, you are eligible to join the Systems Integrators Leadership Council (SILC; formerly known as the Sound, AudioVisual and Video Integrators, or SAVVI Council) and help shape the industry. Members of the council, led by SILC Chair Barry Goldin, CTS of Audio Video Systems, will collaborate on important and groundbreaking projects and initiatives to advance the goals of the systems-integrator community and the audiovisual industry as a whole. To join, contact membership@infocomm.org.

ICIF SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

InfoComm International established the International Communications Industries Foundation (ICIF) to address the industry's need for a high-quality workforce, and it endowed the ICIF with $1.2 million to fund scholarships for students and AV-industry workers. There are two types of scholarships. Both require that students be majoring in audiovisual subjects or related fields, including audio, video, telecommunications, electronics, technical aspects of the theater, data networking, software development, and information technology. Students with other majors may be considered if they can demonstrate a relationship to career goals in the industry.

The first type of scholarship is for dependents of member organizations. Post-secondary education scholarships are awarded to high school seniors and college students who are employees of InfoComm-member companies or dependents of employees. (See application for the definition of “dependent.”) To be eligible for this $1,500 scholarship, students must be dependents of employees or employees of InfoComm International-member companies in good standing. AV scholarships are the second type of scholarship available. Post-secondary education scholarships of $1,200 each are awarded to high school seniors and college students who are pursuing a career in the AV industry.
