Matrox Convert DVI Plus

Matrox Video Products Group announced the Matrox Convert DVI Plus, an SD/HD SDI scan converter that allows broadcasters to utilize the computer-based content that is quickly becoming a key part of the nightly news. It can create broadcast video from applications such as Skype, YouTube, Google Earth, video games, and web browser sessions, as well as citizen journalists’ mobile phone videos. The Convert DVI Plus can also drive projectors and large displays at live events and in houses of worship. Controls are provided via a PC-based GUI which includes a live preview pane for scaling and positioning in context. Other features include a flicker reduction filter, customizable presets with user-assignable hotkeys, password protection, SD pixel aspect ratio compensation, and a standalone mode. The DVI-D input can handle up to 1920x1200. It can simultaneously output HD/SD-SDI, HD/SD analog, S-Video, and composite. The Convert DVI Plus can also up- and downscale in realtime with proper color space and aspect ratio conversion. Price: $1,495
