MultiView –SA series

Magenta Research, a leading manufacturer of Cat-5 signal distribution and switching systems, has begun shipping its latest MultiView series models, the MultiView –SA series. The breakthrough –SA versions of MultiView transmitters and receivers enable the concurrent distribution of video, duplex serial control signals, and stereo audio over a singular Cat-5/-5e/-6 or unshielded twisted pair cable.

The –SA transmitters and receivers simplify installation and save money by eliminating the need for additional Cat-5 cables for stereo audio and/or serial distribution. Distance capability is 0ft. to 1,500ft. (457 meters) and is available in three distance ranges: 500ft. (152m), 1,000ft. (305m), and 1,500ft. (457m). The user pays only for the distance that is needed.

Dual-port versions of the –SA receivers enable simplex serial, stereo audio and video to be daisy-chained, saving more money by distributing to a maximum of 12 displays from a single transmitter. Compatible video formats include high-resolution computer video (at least 1600x1200 resolution), NTSC, PAL, RGB or Y/Pb/Pr component video, HDTV, and S-Video.

Magenta's Director of Marketing Randy Young comments: "We've been getting numerous requests for RGBHV plus duplex serial plus stereo audio, especially for retail dynamic signage. The MultiView –SA series addresses this need, while maintaining all of the high-performance resolution-over-distance specifications for which MultiView is known. We expect the –SA series to become popular with consultants and integrators looking to clean up installations for which that combination of signals is desired."
