Emcore Model 3762 broadcast fiber-optic transport platform

Emcore Model 3762 video broadcast platform lets users mix and match video standards in one platform and provides broadcasters and cable operators with a migration path allowing them to transport digitized analog signals and digital signals.
The platform’s 1RU optical terminal, available at 1310nm or 1550nm, has three rear-access mounting bays that accept various modules. One module provides power for the optical terminal and the other installed modules. Two additional bays house hot-swappable video/audio modules: one broadcast-quality digitized 12-bit channel or two 10-bit video channels with six audio channels, a SMPTE 259M SDI/DVB-ASI digital video module (19.4Mbps to 213Mbps with a 270MHz clock speed) with pre-embedded audio channels, or SMPTE 310M digital video with pre-embedded audio.
Other modules convert the video signal from SMPTE 310M to ASI video formats. The Model 3762TF offers a loopback connector to monitor the converted video in its ASI format. The unit allows users to field-configure a system for one, two, or four channels that supports broadcast-quality digitized analog, SMPTE 259M SDI/DVB-ASI, or two channels of SMPTE 310M, depending on their requirements.
A CWDM option further expands the capacity of the fiber by combining up to eight wavelengths for transmission over a single fiber. This powerful, flexible system facilitates intra-studio, studio-to-studio, studio-to-tower, studio-to-transmitter, broadcaster-to-cable headend, or special feed back-haul applications.
The Model 3762 complies with UL and FCC requirements, meeting all additional FCC requirements for the number of must-carry audio channels and digital signal transmission.
