Broadata Communications, a developer of cutting-edge optical communications and optoelectronic technologies, has announced the release of its 4700 series. The series transports RGBHV (SXGA: 1280x1024 at 60Hz+) or component video (YPbPr/YUV), transmitted at HD resolutions (720p, 1080i, 1080p) with built-in stereo audio support over a single fiber.

The 4700 series’ unique design includes a simple switch setting that allows the unit to be configured on the fly to support either RGB or component video at HD resolutions. The HD resolutions supported are those available from current high-resolution digital signage/cinema player sources or the new HD DVD or BluRay DVD players that are starting to emerge in the marketplace.

Additionally, support for analog stereo audio is built into the unit and is transported over the same single fiber as the video. This fully digital product allows for complete plug-and-play transport of high-resolution video transmission for applications that include corporate presentations, digital signage, digital cinema, medical displays, simulators, and much more.
