Meyer Sound Releases MAPP Online Pro 2.7

Meyer Sound has released version 2.7 of its free, patented Mapp Online Pro acoustical prediction software. The new version is a major update incorporating a number of improvements to functionality, user interface, and speed, as well as adding data for the UPJunior ultracompact VariO loudspeaker and the Stella-4 installation loudspeaker for Constellations electroacoustic architecture.
Mapp Online Pro is one of a growing family of Meyer Sound software offerings that also includes Compass control software for the Galileo loudspeaker management system, CueStation control and programming software for the Matrix3 audio show control system, and the RMS remote monitoring system.
Among the many features added in the new version are an augmented ability to build groundstacked arrays, a solo feature similar to that found in the company's RMS remote monitoring system, and expanded loudspeaker system options. Improvements have also been made in the user interface to increase visibility of crucial information and enhance access to key functions. The new device configuration window enables users to maintain greater organization of their system by assigning a unique address to each of three virtual microphone switchers and five system processors. The update also adds controls found in the system map of the compass control software for the Galileo loudspeaker management system, including gain, delay, polarity, and mute.
Additionally, prediction calculations in Mapp Online Pro 2.7 have been accelerated by optimizations performed on the Mapp Online Pro servers at Meyer Sound headquarters.
Mapp Online Pro is a highly accurate system employing a patented Internet-enabled client/server system to give system designers and technicians a powerful design tool that can be accessed in the field from nearly any location. Mapp Online Pro predictions draw on a database of high-resolution (1/48 octave) measurements taken with a SIM audio analyzer at one-degree rotational increments in Meyer Sound's anechoic chamber.
The result is data that accurately captures the phase behavior of a loudspeaker or array, as well as the magnitude response. The program also allows definition of room boundaries and architectural features and factors in the effects of first reflections from boundaries.
